Who runs the table.
Two operators, a standing Monday, and a plainspoken idea: put real problems in front of people who'll actually engage with them.
No. 01 — Why We Started
Christopher Brand and Dan had both done the rounds. The 7 a.m. breakfasts. The business-card swaps. The referral quotas. The part where everyone stands up in a circle and delivers the same thirty-second pitch they delivered last week, to the same people, who weren't really listening then either.
It wasn't that networking was a bad idea. It was that the format had stopped doing anything. Seasoned operators don't need another room to be sold in. They need a room where they can put a real problem on the table and get honest, useful thinking back — from people who've run something themselves.
So they built the room they wished existed.
The rule was simple, and it still is: every Monday at 1PM, one member brings a live business challenge, and the whole table works it. No pitching. No dues. No application to get in. You show up, you buy your own lunch, and you're held accountable for what you said you'd do.
Chris and Dan are in the room every week — not as hosts running an agenda, but as members with their own problems to put on the table. As the group grows, the decisions about how it grows get worked the same way everything else does: as a challenge, together, at the table.
No. 02 — What We Believe
Four things the table takes seriously.
-
01
Accountability is the point
A good idea is worthless if nobody follows through. You leave with a commitment, and the group checks in between meetings.
-
02
Critical thinking over cheerleading
You'll get honest pushback, not polite applause. That's the difference between a table and an audience.
-
03
Nobody pitches
There is no referral quota and no sales script. The only thing on the table is a real problem worth working.

The Invitation
This is what following through together looks like.
